Personalized Learning Experiences with Demonstrations 

Four Dynamic Zoom webinars: Dive deep into the Brave Writer philosophy and practices with Julie Bogart, our founder, and Dawn Smith, our Director of Publishing. These sessions provide you with the essential tools and insights you need to help your child thrive as a writer. Each webinar includes demonstrations of Brave Writer practices.

Community and Support

Connect and Collaborate: Engage with a supportive community of coaches and fellow cohort members inside Brave Learner Home. Share experiences, challenges, and wins in a space dedicated to mutual growth and encouragement. You'll be added to the Brave Learner Home community for four months as part of your training membership.

Helpful Tips: Receive weekly emails packed with resources and actionable tips to enhance your child’s writing journey. We curate our materials for you!

Accountability

Group Support: We understand the importance of staying on track. Our mentorship program includes built-in accountability to help you maintain a consistent and productive homeschool writing routine while you develop your skills as an educator.

Monthly General and High School Office Hours: Have burning questions? Get them answered by Dawn Smith, our Director of Publishing. These sessions are a golden opportunity to gain clarity and direction tailored to your children's specific needs. Open to all in the training! No question is too small—ask about any of our Brave Writer products or homeschooling. Dawn will help you!

Training Schedule

Our comprehensive four-month training program kicks off in January and runs through April. This gives you ample time to learn Brave Writer principles and practices and to integrate our program into your homeschool while having direct access to coaches and members of the community.

January
Why write? Why writing matters in the age of AI!  

This month, we’ll explore why writing is more important than ever in this age of AI-generated content: writing for thinking and learning, writing for communication, writing for expression . . . It all matters, and you can help your child tap into it!

February
Writing Formats: Brave Writer Writing Projects as structures (formats) for writing

Essays and reports are some of the most recognizable writing formats, but writing takes many forms! We'll break writing out of the box and show you how to use writing structures to meet your kids where they are and grow their confidence in writing.

March
Cross-Curricular Connections: Building Unit Studies with Brave Writer

Writing is here. Writing is there. Writing is everywhere! Writing breaks the bounds of subject matter and skips across all subjects! (What a delightful image!) Building Unit Studies with Brave Writer makes it easy to weave writing into history, science, math, and more! This month, we'll give you the building blocks and hand over a few ready-made plans—training program members only!

April   
Assessment: End-of-the-year assessment strategies that help you plan next year!  

We’ll help you wrap up this year while planning for your next year at the same time. What would it be like for assessment and planning not to be two separate projects? We'll explore various styles of evaluation and how you can use them to leap-frog into next year with the confidence that you’re meeting the needs of your unique child!

Wrap-up Meeting

We'll celebrate all you've accomplished with a final meet-up at the end of April.
