Find writing inspiration for teens (13-14)

The High School Writers Bundle is perfect for teens that are clicking along—able to draft without parental help. This stage coincides with puberty and the development of the "rhetorical imagination" (putting themselves in someone else's shoes, able to consider an issue from a variety of viewpoints).

These kids show competence in keyboarding, handwriting, spelling, and punctuation (with occasional errors, of course, but increasing control in these areas).

Help for High School is for teens…

✔  intending to go to college

✔ who’ve not yet learned to write an expository essay

Help for High School is a self-study program written for and to teens. The first half develops a teen's powers of argument. The second half teaches the expository essay. The processes used in the manual mirror how the essay is taught in college freshman composition classes.

Boomerang is for teens…

✔ reading and writing comfortably

✔ ready for novels with mature themes

✔ ready to engage in literary analysis

✔ ready for thoughtful discussion about literature

Boomerang lasts for an entire school year and includes ten month-long handbooks. Some novels in the Boomerang program introduce themes of social justice, dystopian societies, and morally complex characters.

Boomerang and Help for High School are meant to be used simultaneously.
